The Talk: Co-host Marie Osmond leaves the show after just one season

Marie Osmond

The Talk: Co-host Marie Osmond leaves the show after just one season, When Sara Gilbert left the Talk just last year, Marie Osmond filled her seat at the table for the tenth season. Now she leaves the set after just one season.

This was surprising as ‘The Talk’ has a history of hosts who have stayed on the show for long periods of time.

John Redmann, the long-time executive and showrunner producer of the show also left the sets after 10 seasons.

Marie does not appear to leave the show due to any bad blood with her and the production. She is currently now working on other projects, which include a new show with Viacom CBS.

CBS statement to the Deadline.

“Marie is a consummate professional, and we thank her for sharing her personal experiences, insight, as well as incredible talents, with our audience,” CBS said in a statement to Deadline. “We will miss her humor, kindness, and good nature, and wish her much success in her future endeavors.”

There has been no official statement released as to who is going fill the fifth chair after her. As Osmond was a familiar face, appearing for around 40 episodes previously there is some speculation that CBS might bring in some who was previously seen on The Talk.

The Talk

Marie’s post on Instagram after her departure.

“One of the highlights of my year at The Talk was working with my dear friend John Redmann, and I’m excited to continue our working relationship on several projects we are developing. Also, my husband and I just dropped our last two kids off at college, we looked at each other, laughed, and remembered we hadn’t been this alone together since 1982!! So, at this stage of my life, I’m looking forward to spending more time with him and visiting all the kids/grandkids.”
