While The Witcher show very peacefully and successfully sided all those who compared it to Game of Thrones, Netflix has really favoured the show. After such a positive response the makers are ready to appear back on screens to fill up their pockets to the brim this time.


So fans! It’s time to pick up your Gwent Cards and get ready for a battle with the announcement of a brand new season of The Witcher Season 2.


And it turns out that the GoT assumptions turn irrelevant as Netflix gives green light to the season.

There is no confirm date as to when the season 2 is to land on our screens. Production of the show has stared but also came to a halt due the Corona Virus Pandemic so the release of the show can be delayed from the expected date.

Speaking to IGN, Hissrich admitted considering a late 2020 release but then changed her mind, explaining, “The truth is, [The Witcher] is an enormous show and it takes a long time and we realized that in Season 1 we were smashing down a lot of the post-production process.

“And we want to make sure that everyone on our team gets the time to do their job and do it to the best of their ability. So we’re making sure we have a lot of built-in cushion time for Season 2 so we don’t cram anything in at the last minute.”

The Witcher Season 2 – The production of the shoe began in February 2020 but soon came to a halt and the release date was expected to be in 2021. So nothing can really be said it.

Nothing about the plot is official yet. But one thing is for sure that they viewers will witness some monster hunting, more war and prophecies and powers of Princess Ciri.

Similar to the season 1 season 2 will also take the audience on a tour of different time zones and also try and find out the reason behind the extinction of the monsters and witches.

Characters which are to repride their res from the previous seaon include  Jaskier (Joey Batey) and Triss (Anna Shaffer). Eamon Farren will be back as Cahir, too. Other familiar faces from season one will include Tissaia (MyAnna Buring), Filavandrel (Tom Canton), Stregobor (Lars Mikkelson), Artorius (Terence Maynard), Sabrina (Therica Wilson Read), Murta (Lilly Cooper), Yarpen Zigrin (Jeremy Crawford) and Istredd (Royce Pierreson).
