Unsolved mysteries season 2: Netflix has rebooted the original Unsolved mysteries which ran from 1987 to 2002. It had over 500 episodes and led to a resolution of more than 260 cases. Netflix’s Unsolved Mysteries premiered on July 1. And only in the six episodes has covered true chilling cases such as the disappearance Xavier Dupont de Ligonnes, who killed five of his family members, potentially racially motivated murders and the suspicious death of Rey Rivera.
The expected release date for Season 2 and everything else you need to know:
Netflix has made any official announcement about the second season but ‘Volume 2’ of the first season will be released later this year. Like the first volume, it will also have 6 episodes, which are already under production. Netflix did the same thing- that is splitting a season into parts- in case of other shows too. The second season is very likely to be released. Because the show has been wildly popular. And the co-creator Meurer and her team are already discussing ideas for new episodes.
Netflix is planning to pay more attention to its international audiences. Two of the six episodes upcoming Volume 2 will be having cases that took place outside the United States. Co-creator of the show, Terry Dunn Meurer has said that the team is exploring some stories in Brazil. As the second volume is under production, it is expected that the cases from Brazil will be featured in the second episode.
Unsolved mysteries season 2: What’s different and new?
One significant difference between the classic and the Netflix show is that there is no narrator or host in the new version. Maybe it is almost impossible to find someone who can replace the iconic host Robert Stack.
Don’t hope for any updates on old cases in season 2. As Meurer and her producing partner John Cosgrove also clarified that they are not planning to revisit any of the old cases.
