Netflix has acquired the global rights of the Venice Film Festival’s best film nominee ‘Pieces Of A Woman.’ Netflix has been busy acquiring rights of new movies so that the subscribers can watch great content in the near future.


This upcoming Netflix Original drama titled Pieces Of A Woman will be directed by Kornél Mundruczó and is written by Kata Wéber. The music will be composed by the legendary composer Howard Shore, known for composing in The Lord Of The Rings trilogy.


He shared his views regarding Netflix acquiring the rights of Pieces Of A Woman. He said – “As a European filmmaker, I couldn’t be more excited and appreciative of finding my home for this film with Netflix. Their taste in independent cinema feels like the United Artists of the 1970s. The true champions of filmmakers and original voices for today.”

The shooting for Pieces Of A Woman started from December 2019 and went on till March 2020. The filming locations were Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Oslo, and Drammen. Fortunately, the shooting wrapped up before the COVID-19 could delay production.

What will be the storyline of Pieces Of A Woman?

The story will revolve around Boston couple Martha and Sean Carson. They are moments away from becoming parents. But their lives change when during the home birth, by the hands of a flustered midwife, who fails to deliver the baby. Everyone is heartbroken and Martha has to cope up with her own grief. She will be dealing with a fractured relationship with her husband, the highly public court case against the mid-wife, and her overbearing mother.
