War Of The Worlds Season 2 is a science-action drama series that is created and written by BAFTA Award winner Howard Overman. It will be a sequel to War of the Worlds that premiered on October 28, 2019, and consisted of eight episodes. The series has been loosely adapted from H.G. Wells’s 1898 novel of the same name.
Season one ended on a note that clearly says there’s a lot more left to explain. So has season 2 been renewed? If so, when will it release? Here’s everything we know so far about it.
War Of The Worlds Season 2 – Release Date
The second season of the show has been officially renewed. It has also been revealed in October 2019 that the creative team has started working as well.
However, we do know that the film and television industry has been largely affected due to the outbreak of coronavirus. So it would be obvious to expect a delay in the production of War Of The Worlds Season 2 as well.
Producer of the show, Johnny Capps has stated that resuming the filming wouldn’t pose a much problem. This is due to the show being based in a post-apocalyptic world where there aren’t many people around.
So although season 2 might be a bit of a wait, our most probable guess would be to expect it in the mid or late 2021.
War Of The Worlds Season 2 – Cast Details
The majority of the original cast would return to reprise their respective roles in season 2. The cast will include –
- Gabriel Byrne as Bill Ward

The character of Bill’s ex-wife Helen Brown that was portrayed by Elizabeth McGovern was killed by one of the cyborgs. So she won’t be coming back.
War Of The Worlds Season 2 – Expected Storyline
The story revolves around Europe where transmission is detected from another galaxy giving proof of intelligent extraterrestrial life. Astronomers waited for further contact from them, but within days, mankind gets wiped up. No humanity is left and one-day alien ships hovered in the sky. The question that arises on the survivor’s mind is who are these attackers and why are they destroying mankind.
As season one concluded with some unanswered questions, so season 2 will begin from where it left off. We’ll get to know as to who are these attackers and how the sheer desperation to survive will result in.
