Why is Derry Girls season 2 no longer available on Netflix?

Last Thursday (July 9) the streaming service Netflix affirmed the appearance of season 2 of the Channel 4 show on the stage, tweeting: “Derry Girls Season 2 is now on Netflix if you’re looking for a reason to watch it once more.” Yet, only few days later it vanished from the platform, leaving numerous fans justifiably furious.

On Tuesday (July 14) Netflix UK and Ireland tended to the show’s removal on Twitter, stating: “UPDATE: it looks like we were early with this one so have had to take season 2 down, for now. “We will let you know when it’s coming back as soon as we can. In the meantime, it’s accessible now on All 4.”

Derry Girls was renewed for a third season by Channel 4 in April of a year ago.
