Netflix’s upcoming live-action ‘One Piece’ series is creating plenty of room to speculate about it’s cast. The actor who has been pin-pointed is Cole Sprouse, known for shows such as Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Riverdale. It looks like he will play the role of Sanji for the series One Piece.
Recently when Netflix had celebrated the birthday of Straw Hat cook Sanji, the streaming service asked the fans who should play him in the adaptation. There were a variety of answers for the question, that had been posted in eight languages via the official One Piece Netflix Twitter account. The fans gave a few names that included – Liam Hemsworth, Dacre Montgomery, Yosuke Kubozuka, Gaspard Ulliel, Takeru Sato, Alex Pettyfer, Bradley James, Tomohisa Yamashita, Cole Sprouse, Lucas Till, and many more.
Although nothing has been formally announced about the same, the recent pics of actor Cole Sprouse has hinted him to be the perfect fir for Sanji.
Has Cole Sprouse hinted on him playing Sanji?
Cole had called out the One Piece character in his recent posts a few weeks ago. The actor has openly shared his passion for photography and archaeology over on social media. And the fans now know that he has a thing for One Piece as well.
Cole Sprouse posted photo shot with photographer Damon Baker, showing the gorgeous shots. The post has been liked by millions, as Sprouse had set their tone with his Straw Hat approved caption. The caption read – “Damon Baker and I hittin you with that Sanji one two.”
When we look at the photo, the caption makes sense. The pirate is known for hanging around Luffy for decades while being specialized in martial arts and cooking. Sanji has a preference to fight similar to a kickboxer, using only his legs to fight. So Sprouse’s photo depicting high kick, his white button shirt, and skinny slacks make him look more like Sanji.
What is the development status of the live-action series?
One Piece will consist of ten episodes and is currently in works. The writer, executive producer, and showrunner is Steve Maeda and it’ll be a co-production between Netflix and Tomorrow Studios.
