The film has been shot in two different locations – Toronto, Canada, and on the campus of California State University, Northridge (Los Angeles). Work It follows an awkward teenage girl named Quinn Ackerman, who just wants to take admission to the college of her dreams. This dream of her will depends on how she performs at a dance competition.
Without having any knowledge of how to dance, she competes with her high school’s dance team, where she had been rejected. So she forms a crew of bold and fearless misfits to compete against them in a national dance championship.
