Zac Efron will be starring in a remake of a Stephen King Classic

The thirty two year old American actor and singer, Zac Efron will star in ‘Firestarter’. It is an adaptation of novel written by Stephen King who is an author mainly known for writing horrors. The novel on which this is based on is a classic.

PLOT

The film will revolve around a girl who will develop powers to see her future. The young girl after getting pyrokinetic powers, gets kidnapped by the government. The agency is mysterious and wants to use her power as a weapon.

ORIGINAL FILM

The original film which is a horror and science fiction genre, got released in 1984. It was released in the month of May on eleventh. The original film was directed by seventy three year old American director, and screenwriter Mark L. Lester.

The remake will be directed by Keith Thomas who is an American filmmaker and an educator as well. Stephen King’s other novels have also been adapted into movies. These include the very famous ‘It’ which was a record breaking horror film. A sequel to the movie was also released.

The news that the actor will be starring in the remake was first announced by Collider. In the original movie, David Keith who is now sixty six years old. The remake will surely have a different outlook than the novel written and from the original movie.

It is being assumed that Zac Efron will play the role of the father of the girl who acquires superpowers, Charlie. The creators and producers of the film have not however confirmed anything yet. The character is known as Andy.

RELEASE DATE

A confirm date about the release of this horror and science fiction movie has not been declared yet. But we can be sure that it will not release before 2022. So one thing is sure that we will have to wait two years for this amazing movie.
