During the EA Play Live 2020, Respawn Entertainment made an announcement that Apex Legends will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and Steam for the PC in autumn 2020. Apex Legends is a free to play Battle Royale game. Well, this is not it! The game will also support cross-play. This means that the players on different consoles can now join everyone else on the Origin for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The announcement was made by Chad Grenier, the game director during the online-only EA Play Live 2020. He also said about the success of the Season 4 of Apex Legends and also encouraged about the Season 5. He further revealed that a new limited-time event known as “Lost Treasures” will be coming on all the platforms on 23rd June.
Last year, as of October, Apex Legends were able to house about 70 million players from all over the world. This made it the biggest game across all the genres. Also, the game won the “best multiplayer game” award during The Game Awards 2019. However, the latest stats are not known, but definitely the numbers have crossed as of now.

Apex Legends: The Backlash
Along with the good reviews the game also received some criticism. Last year, Respawn was able to draw the attention of the public into a huge controversy. This happened with the limited time event known as the “Iron Crown”. In this event, the players were able to get most of the items through the loot boxes. Well, the price was $170. Was it worth it? This happened to bring a backlash wave. And for this, Respawn had to apologize too.
Apex Legends is playable on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game will be arriving on the Steam and Switch in the Autumn 2020. The Cross-play feature will also be added during this time.
