Resident Evil 3 Remake, It was back in June when Capcom announced that Resident Evil is the first series which has hit 100 million sales. But it is now August and it seems that they have announced the sales of the new remake with a less celebratory tone. They have said that it is showing solid sales which can be said as a cruel compliment.
So, let us see whether the new game is falling short of the previous games. RE is one of the most famous gaming franchises and everyone is pained to see that it is struggling to sell the title.
Still a respectable number
It has been said that Resident Evil 3 Remake has sold about 2.7 million copies of the game. But, when you compare it with the number of sales RE 2 remake did in the same length of time, then it seems that the game is falling short.
It was said that the game went to sell 4 million copies at this point. Moreover, it broke the sales record of any previous title. Now, we are not saying that the sales of the game cannot recover. We also have to put into the fact that these are not normal times as the economies of many people have suffered.
What is the business end saying?
The business end of the game developer also has a few points to put forward. The business development manager of the game has gone on to comment on the sales of Resident Evil 3 Remake. They have said the game is now lagging behind the previous games of RE 5, 6, and 7.
The latest game in the main series of Resident Evil 3 Remake has performed below the expectations of the developer. But we have to say that it was a great reinvention of a game that has elicited great support in the past.
Resident Evil 6 was not much popular and it did not get great reviews. But it still managed to get a lot of sales at the beginning of March 2017. It also managed to hit about 4 million sales a few months later. But the developer still called it a disappointment. Therefore, it is not clear where the standards of the developer are standing.
