Ubisoft Forward event was supposed to reveal the details about Far Cry 6. But this could not happen as a premature leak led to the reveal of the game. The trailer was now out in the open and it leads to several questions about the same.
People have been asking about the new title. This would make the new flagship game to be released after Assassins Creed: Valhalla and Watch Dogs: Legion. Hence, let us look at what the game is slated to bring to the table.
What is the release date?
The game was first leaked on the Playstation Store in Hong Kong. The game had a listing of February 18, 2021. This date was later confirmed by the studio. This means that it is one of the most notable releases that is supposed to take place at the starting of 2021. No major game is supposed to be released during that point in time.
This release date actually makes a lot of sense if you look at the history of Far Cry games. The developer usually takes about 2 years to release a Far Cry title. The last game came out in 2019 and was named Far Cry: New Dawn. This date was not confirmed by the developer at Ubisoft Forward event. The developer has dropped multiple hints that a game would be released at this point in time.
What is the Plot of the game?
The game takes place on the fictional island of Yara. This reminds us of what the island of Cuba used to be. But, we can be certain of one thing which is that the game is not set in current times.
The island is ruled by a ruthless dictator named President Anton Castillo who is played by Giancarlo Esposito. If that name rings a bell, then we need to remind you that this is the same person that played the character of Gus Fring on Breaking Bad. The President is seen to be training his successor Diego to be his successor.
You can take the character of a man or woman and build your resistance against the ruthless dictator. So, are you up for the challenge? Let us know in the comments below.
