Production of The Nintendo 3DS ends after 9 Years!

Nintendo officially announced the end of the production of the Nintendo 3DS family of systems after about 10 years.

This information was first updated by Japanese Nintendo on its official website and the Nintendo 3DS UK page. With this the end to story pf the handheld system which once sold more than 75.87 million units arrives. So, if you head to the Nintendo America’s 3DS page, it will be redirected to the home page.

About Nintendo 3DS

The Nintendo3DS was first released back in the year 2011 for $250. The device was able to display the stereoscopic 3D to the player without the requirement of 3D glasses. It came up with games such as Pilotwings Resort, Steel Diver, and Nintendogs + Cats, and new services like StreetPass and SpotPass. However, it was not able to match the requirements of the audiences at the beginning.

Nintendo dropped the price of the 3DS to $169 from $250 in less than six months. And, those who had already purchased the device were offered with the Ambassador Program. The Ambassador Program includes the 10 NES and 10 Gameboy Advance games.

The Nintendo3DS rolled out several redesigns like the New Nintendo3DS, the New Nintendo3DS XL, the Nintendo 2DS, and the New Nintendo 2DS XL.

The best Nintendo3DS Games were: Pokémon Sun & Moon, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Super Mario 3D Land, Fire Emblem Awakening, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

With the launch of the Switchback in 2017, Nintendo started focusing on its home console. As the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U were the two systems that have co-developing by Nintendo for each.

Well, now according to the Japanese website of Nintendo, it has discontinued the production of all its 3DS console models. However, the page is working for the New 3DS LL, New 2DS LL and 2DS but the listings read ‘out of production’.
