According to the recent rumours, Konami games might re-release Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid2 on PC. However, the rumours further suggest that they might come up with an announcement soon.
These rumours took their track from a verified Resetera member Potterson. He seems to have a track true record of these things which include leaking the details of Starfield in the past. Well, the specification about the re-releases is still a mystery whether the games will be sold individually or in a package just like the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection which was launched in 2012.
Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid2 were launched on the PC before. However, these titles were available only on the physical format and are not available on stores such as Steam or GOG. This classic titles will need a back end work to make it playable on modern PCs. Therefore, a modern port will be available widely which is supposedly welcomed by fans who are interested in playing these modern classics.
The Metal Gear Solid franchise is quite popular among the fans. And these fans are willing to get some new sequel or remake of the original. Also, Microsoft recently bought ZeniMax Medea, as a result, some of the fans are calling Sony to make a similar move by buying Konami. However, it doesn’t seem that Sony will be making such a move. Also, it won’t be the first time when Sony has linked to the publisher.
According to the earlier rumours, Sony’s PlayStation 5 reveal event will also consist of a Silent Hill title. This is going to be exclusive for PS5.
The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is playable on the PS3, PS Vita and Xbox 360.
