Monday market highlights: The Sensex and Nifty continued their last day’s positivity and ended on a record high note for the first trading day of the week. Monday was mainly helped by strong global cues after the US presidential election outcome and sustained foreign capital inflow into the domestic market. The Sensex stopped at, 42,597.43 points, with a gain of 704.37 points, higher than the previous trading day while Nifty stopped at 12,461.05 points with a gain of 197.05 points. During the last trading day (Friday), the Sensex closed 553 points higher to trade at 41,892 points, while the Nifty gain of 143 points and finally closed at 12,264 points.

  • During the session, the share market closed at a record high note nearly after 10-months.
  • Parag Milk’s net profit moved down by 44 percent on YoY. The revenue collection by the company moved down by 22 percent.
  • On Monday the gold prices in India traded higher on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). According to the experts, the hike in the international spot prices took place in the hopes of more COVID-19 stimulus measures under US President-elect Joe Biden.
  • The shares of L&T Finance Holdings rallied a percent lower to Rs. 67 apiece on the NSE. This downfall in the price was mainly observed after the company’s board approved Rs. 3,000 crore rights issue.
  • During Monday’s session, Nifty Bank moved up almost 3 percent.
