New Delhi: On Wednesday, Delhi Recorded yet another single-day jump in covid 19 cases of over 6800 confirmed infections. About the same, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the national capital is witnessing a third wave of the virus while the pollution levels ten to increase along with the ongoing festive season.
For the second consecutive day, the covid cases in Delhi have crossed 6000. Past few days, the national capital is witnessing a fresh surge in covid cases. To strengthen the surveillance mechanism, conduction if targeted covid tests in markets and other crowded areas have been ensured by the Delhi government.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal told reporters,” Delhi has witnessed a jump in the number of COVID-19 cases. I think we can call it a third wave…we have been monitoring the situation continuously and there is no need to panic. We will take whatever steps are needed.”

51 new fatalities pushed the toll to 6703 on Wednesday. The positivity rate stood at 11.61 per cent. On Tuesday, 6725 cases were reported in Delhi.
The third wave of covid in Delhi:
Arvind Kejriwal said that there has been a jump in the number of virus cases in the last few days in Delhi and he termed it as the third wave. However, he asked everyone not to panic as the AAP government is monitoring the situation quite closely.
The Chief Minister said that there is an adequate number of beds for covid patients in Delhi. Though there is a shortage of ICU beds and ventilators in some of the private hospitals. But that too will be addressed in the next one or two days as the minister reported.
