The Delhi Police checked 1903 metro trains in the last four days following which many people were found violating guidelines about the Covid 19 pandemic. Nearly 100 people were fined for violation of covid norms.
Officials on Sunday said that 98 challans have been issued to metro passengers. These people were violating the covid 19 norms on Delhi Metro. A drive at the metro station has been conducted by the police personnel. They checked on those found violating Covid 19 guidelines. Police found nearly 100 people. Either they were not wearing masks or they were not maintaining social distance. As a result, they were issued challan.
Jitendra Mani is the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro). He said that 1903 metro trains were checked by Delhi Police in the last four days. And a total of 98 challans were issued to passengers for violating the guidelines to control the pandemic. He appealed to all the people travelling in the metro to wear masks. He requested them to maintain social distancing. Also, he asked them to use hand sanitizers for their safety.
To contain the spread of coronavirus, Metro was closed on March 22. However, in early September, the metro services were resumed with strict safety and social distancing measures. After 169 days, the metro services were resumed but all the passengers must follow the guidelines about Covid 19. If metro passengers will violate these guidelines then surely they will be fined for the same.
