About the third wave in the capital, Satyender Jain said, “Early To Say, But Possibility.”
Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain said that it is too early to say if the record of 5673 cases in a dag in Delhi indicated the start of the third covid wave. But the possibility for the same cant is ruled out.
Health Minister Satyender Jain said, “We should wait and observe the trend for a week. We will not be able to say anything in definite terms till then. It is too early to call it the third wave just yet. But, it might be a possibility.” Mr Jain has been overseeing the readiness of healthcare facilities in Delhi during the ongoing covid pandemic.
Mr Jain said that rise in cases was not expected and now the season is of festivals and it has become a bit cold as well. Also as he mentioned, the strategy has been changed now. Now when a person tests positive, his whole family and all close contacts are also checked. Further, the test is repeated after 4 to 5 days. Earlier we used to wait for symptoms to appear in family members and close contacts. However, now the contact circle is tested immediately.
Delhi recorded an average of 4000 plus cases for the past week. For the first time on Monday, there were about 4853 cases in the capital. Two days later it broke that record and it is a worrying sign as national covid 19 levels have dropped drastically.
