Agra: In the early morning of Tuesday, a car overturned after hitting scraps of tyre lying on Yamuna expressway. Two people including a 45-year-old woman and her 15-year-old daughter died in the accident. The other three members of the family are injured.

Ramesh Singh, 52 was driving the car. She said that he saw his younger daughter Shivani being run over by another vehicle as she fell out of the car. Ramesh Singh works in the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, Delhi as a personal assistant to the IT commissioner. The shattered father told TOI, “We have always read accident stories in the newspapers. Today we have become the news.”
Singh lost his wife, Aradhna and younger daughter. The family was on their way to attend a funeral ceremony at Hamirpur and the accident took place in Mathura’s Badle area. Anjali is Singh’s elder daughter who is a BA final year student at Delhi University. Anil Singh is his brother in law. Both Anjali and Anil are severely injured.
Recalling the incident Singh said, “I was driving Wagon-R in the middle lane when it hit a loose truck tyre, lying in the middle of the road. The car overturned towards the right. My wife and the younger daughter, Shivani, were sitting on the back seat. Initially, I thought my daughter was stuck in the car. But then I saw her on the road and a vehicle passed over her.”
After post examination, the body of his wife and daughter were handed to Singh. Singh said that on Monday they got the news of the death of some person and they decided to reach Hamirpur to attend the funeral. He added that it is all fate and that everything is pre-decided.
