Since she left her cellphone, her hairbrush, and makeup and never touched $1800 in her bank account, police were suspicious about her disappearance. On investigation, police found surveillance equipment in the house. And her stepfather said that he installed them for her safety and not to spy on his children. Also, police found the passive record of all inbound and outbound calls.
One friend of Alissa told in an interview with the police that Alissa had told him that her stepfather tried to sexually abuse her when she was young. But all these allegations were denied by her stepfather. He said that he has not harmed her and he has nothing to do with her disappearance.
Michael Turney arrested!
After nearly two decades, Michael Turney, the stepfather of a 17-year-old Alissa was arrested. He was arrested on Thursday in Mesa, Arizona under the charge of second-degree murder. Phoenix police believe the man is responsible for her death.
Sarah is Alissa’s sister and her perseverance was credited by the officials during a press conference. In 2009, she spoke to ABC News and was standing by her father’s innocence but in recent years she raised awareness on social media and considered it to be her father’s guilt.
Sarah posted on social media that after 20 years Alissa got justice. Further, she stated that he is arrested and told never to give up hope to get the Justice. They have made it. And all this makes her cry.
The first appearance of Michael Turney in court was on Friday and he is due back there till next Friday. Further, the court denied any reduction in bond.
