The All India Radio or AIR is going to broadcast its own first News Magazine programme. The deal is that it will be in Sanskrit language and will have updates from the Sanskrit world and essential developments during the week. It will be called ‘ Sanskrit Saptahiki’ and will be broadcasted from this Saturday and will be of 20 minutes duration and can be heard on All India Radio FM News Channel at 100.1 MHz frequency. It will have a repeat broadcast on Sundays.
The content would explain the crucial updates of the week, developments from the world of Sanskrit, values that are incorporated in the Sanskrit literature, history, art, culture, tradition and philosophy. The programme is aimed at supporting and voicing out the children and the youth of the country. The broadcast will contain segments like Sukti, Prasang, saptahiki, Sanskrit Darshan, Gyan Vigyan, Bal Vallari, Anvikshiki and Ek Bharat- Shreshtha Bharat.
In Sukti, a Sanskrit quote that is a Shloka will be explained and expressed. Prasang will deal with story-telling from art, culture, tradition, epics and history. Some examples of it would be the Mahabharat, the Ramayana, Upanishads and Vedas. Gyan-Vigyan will have an interview with a key personality associated Sanskrit language. Bal Vallary segment would consider poetry or story-telling by the youth in the language in order to bring popularity to the language. Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat will talk about five generally used words or vocabulary that will be converted from Sanskrit to Hindi and other languages every other week.And finally the closing section, Anvikshiki will consider key historical happenings of the week focusing on Indian culture and tradition.
