On Sunday, the Andhra police arrested a CI and a head constable in connection with the suicide case of an auto driver and his family.
On 3rd November, a 45- year- old auto driver Abdul Salaam, his 38 years old wife Noorjahan, their 14 years old daughter Salma, and 10 years old son Dadhi Khalandar attempted suicide by throwing themselves before a running train at Kavuluru village.
Before taking this extreme attempt of suicide, the family of 4 recorded a selfie video in which the family blamed the Nandyal police for their suicide and by 4th November all four members of the family were found dead by the Government Railway Police (GRP) of Kurnool district.
What did their last video say?
In a very tearful voice, Abdul Salaam said that he has nothing to do with the two crimes in which the police have implicated him and now he is unable to bear the torture put on him by the police. Not only Abdul but his entire family was seen in the video. They all had solemn expressions.
About Abdul Salaam and the two crimes
Abdul was a resident of Rojakunta Street in Nandyal and he worked in a jewelry shop in Nandyal earlier. The owner of the jewelry shop accused him of stealing 3 kg of gold from the shop.
Later the police arrested him and sent to judicial remand after recovering 500 grams of gold from his house and after coming out on bail in the case, he started running an auto for livelihood.
A week ago, a passenger who traveled in his auto, complained about the theft of `70,000, and the police registered a case against the auto driver. As he was summoned to the police station for questioning, Abdul reportedly felt humiliated and resorted to the extreme step along with his wife and children.
