Bihar polls: The Assembly elections in Bihar are confirmed by the Election Commissioner Sunil Arora. He says that elections in Bihar will be held on its time. This time elections will be held all the safety measures and keeping social distancing in mind.

He also said that the election commission has given orders to the polling stations that they have to decrease the number of electors to 1000. As compared to the normal number of electors it is much lesser. It will help to minimize the rush at the polling stations. The assembly elections in Bihar will be held between October and November.
Some of the parties are opposing this decision of the EC which is not considered by the election commission. LJP (Lok Janshakti Party), RJD (Rashtriya Janta Dal), Congress among those parties. They have a statement that is it is not a good decision of holding elections in the time of this coronavirus pandemic. It leads to keeping the lives of people in danger.
But on the other hand, the Governing party Janta Dal is acknowledged with this decision. They had said that Bihar polls should be held on its time because the new government of the Bihar will work for its development.
BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party) is also ready for the smooth conduct of the assembly elections. They had said it is in the hand of the EC to hold the elections or not, parties should have given their suggestions to the EC regarding this assembly election.
Meanwhile, the Election commission has already asked form the parties about their suggestions for the upcoming Assembly elections. EC has given the deadline of July 31 but now it is extended to 11 August.
The rule of Nitish Kumar s’ government will expire on 29 November after that if the election will not be held in the state then the state will come under the President’s rule.
