There is an inadequate amount of testing: Bill Gates
Bill Gates said that political leaders and public health care workers need to admit publicly that currently, there is an inadequate amount of testing and should find ways to make the system more efficient. He said, ” we can’t pretend that we get a good grade even today.”
According to Adm. Brett Giroir from the Department of Health and Human Services, one of the reasons that testing didn’t reach 1 million per day because the rate of new cases has slowed down, lowering the number of contracts tracing tests required. In recent weeks, Cases and hospitalization have increased in several European countries. According to some experts, the rise is due to pandemic fatigue which not properly following the COVID 19 precautionary measures. Daily cases in Spain and France have overtaken the United States’ daily cases.
Continuous Outbreaks in the US
Initially, the US saw outbreaks only the West Coast and in northeastern states during the spring, but after that continuous outbreaks spreading across the country in the months.
According to Gates, it is because the Trump administration imposed the travel restrictions which panicked US citizens and residents to run towards home and hence, increasing the spread of the infection at the time when there is no proper testing or quarantine protocols.
