India China Border row has now become a psychic war and war of words. The People’s Liberation Army is now using mind games to intimidate the Indian troops. Now Beijing has entered in the war of words with India and spreading misleading information on the situation of the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
Now China is engaged in the psychological war
Sun Tzu, Chinese Military Strategist wrote in his very famous book “Art of War” that art of war is to defeat the enemy without even fighting. The Chinese and Chinese troops has been fighting with his enemies the same way as described in this book for many years. The psychological warfare is now being the ain weapons of the Chinese troops against Indian Army deployed in Ladakh.
The Indian army repositioned its troops on Rezang La- Rechin La ridgeline south of Pangong Tso on August 29-30 by displacing the PLA and retaining the Finger 4 on the north bank of lake. The loudspeakers were deployed by the Chinese troops in the southern bank of Pangong Tso were jibing to Punjabi songs to tell Indian soldiers about the conditions of being deployed in winter season at these extreme heights and about immorale politicians that sit in Delhi comfortably. This whole idea was to bring down the morale of highly determined Indian force and to create dissatisfaction among troops with winter season lying ahead.
Same tactics as used in 1962
According to military expert, China used the same tactics that were used in 1962 with the help of loudspeakers. However Indian troops remained unamused of the Punjabi songs . Maybe PLA thought that Punjabi troops were in charge of the higher heights of Finger 4.
The situation on LAC is in a ‘critical situation’. It is for the first time in decades that PLA and Indian Army are in standoff in the Eastern part of Ladakh.
