New Delhi: Civil Services aspirant, 22 has been arrested for selling tutorial videos of an IAS coaching institute after enrolling in it. The accused identified as Priyadarshan Tiwari sold these videos at discounted prices through a chat app. Further, he used to upload them on his channel.
Police have seized four phones and a laptop from him. The complaint was filed by The Study. The Study is an institution for IAS. The institute alleged that due to covid lockdown, it started with a mobile application wherein the video tutorial was provided to the students.

The complainant revealed that in October and earlier on 21 May, they came to know that the same videos were uploaded in a different video platform channel. They contacted its owner who gave them the message app ID and email address to contact further. Then, he was offered more tutorial videos at discounted prices. Also, links were provided for more such videos.
Suspect was earlier identified as Rana Pratap Singh
Anto Alphonse, Deputy Commissioner of Police, North said when bank account details associated with payment links were checked, the suspect was then identified as Rana Pratap Singh. However, when they checked their phone number, the suspect was then identified as Tiwari.
As told by Tiwari, after completion of his school, he was pursuing a master’s degree in political science. DCP revealed that Tiwari was a civil services aspirant who wished to start a coaching institution. When the accused got to know about the groups that were providing tutorials in the message group, he subscribed to them. In the fake name of Vidat Tiwari, he subscribed to The Study by Manikant Singh and later shared the user ID and password.
