Delhi: Covid 19 cases rising again with an increased positivity rate. In Delhi, nearly 54,000 tests are conducted daily. The tests conducted are among the highest in the country. Many experts have warned about the spike in the number of cases in the upcoming festive season.

In the last two weeks, the number of covid 19 cases saw a brief lull. However, Covid 19 cases in Delhi have begun to increase again. On Saturday, 4116 cases were recorded and with that tally reached upto 3,52, 520.
The positivity rate meaning the percentage of people who test positive for the disease versus those who were tested saw a dip of 5.6% last week. However, On Friday, it increased to 6.8% and on Saturday, it increased to 7.4%.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has already announced that once the vaccine for Covid 19 will be available, it will be made available throughout the country for free. After the inauguration of two flyovers in Northeast Delhi, he said,
“The whole country should get the Covid-19 vaccine for free. It is the right of all citizens. Everyone is troubled because of the virus.”
In Delhi, a total of 6,225 people have died of covid 19. And 36 people died of the disease on Saturday. Since the festive season is approaching, experts have warned for a sudden surge in the covid cases. A senior Delhi government official said that several meetings are held to be a little more strict during the festive season. He added that the wedding season is also about to start. With the Navratri festival, the crowd in the markets increased. If people won’t take the necessary precautions when cases are likely to increase till Diwali.
