Delhi: Landlady accuses Kashmiri woman by calling her terrorist; case registered

A Kashmiri woman alleged that she is targeted by her landlady for being Kashmiri. The landlady calls her a terrorist. And in absence of her, removes the furniture. The woman filed a complaint and a case was registered on Thursday.

The woman hails from Srinagar. In the complaint, she alleged that her landlady and a man entered her house and called her terrorist, just because she is from Kashmir. She also revealed to the police that when she returned home, her house lock was broken and valuables were stolen 

A notice is issued to the police by DCW( Delhi Commission for Women) and an action taken report is sought along with a copy of the FIR and any arrests have been made in the case. Police said that when the victim returned home, her house lock was broken. Also, her valuables were stolen. Landlady was also present at the spot. An argument happened between both the parties on Wednesday.

A senior police officer said, “We received a PCR call regarding a theft in a woman’s house. On reaching the spot, it was revealed that the house was rented to two sisters. Both are natives of Srinagar. The PCR call was made by their landlady,”

The tenant alleged that the landlady has stolen clothes and Rs 20000. Also, she has broken the locks of the house and furniture is removed. When an enquiry was done, it was revealed that a quarrel happened earlier also for not paying house rent and electricity bills. The officer said that the electricity connection was also disconnected by BSES.

Based on the written complaint by the woman, a case has been registered under section 448,380,457,323 and 509 of IPC at Amar Colony Police station. Further, the matter is in the investigation.
