Delhi: Tea shop worker refuses to give cigarette,2 men stabbed him

The victim identified as Ezaz is a tea shop worker. The 24-year-old man works in Southeast Delhi in Kalindi Kunj area. He was allegedly stabbed by two men because he refused them to give a cigarette. He was then taken to a hospital and is stable.

Police said that both the accused have been arrested. The accused identified are Mohammad Sakib Khan and Abdul Hannan.  Mohammad is 19 years old and the latter is 30 years old. The two stabbed the victim with a blade cutter.

The incident happened on Friday. The police were at a check post. They heard a quarrel. And then they rushed to the spot. Ezaz was found lying with a stab wound. Ezaz was then shifted to the AIIMS trauma centre. Ezaz works along with his brother in law Aamir. And on Friday, Hanna came to the tea shop and took a cigarette. After some time, he came for the second time along with his friend. However, he has closed the shop by then and Hannan asked for the cigarette. When Ezaz refused to give them, they started beating him and Aamir. Then, Khan took a blade cutter and stabbed the victim in his abdomen. Also, Ezaz was injured in his forearm as well.

Accused have been arrested, said Police:

A case was then registered at Shaheen Bagh Police Station. The DCP said that both the accused have been arrested. He added that “During interrogation, the accused disclosed that on Friday, they asked for a cigarette and when Ezaz refused, they lost their temper and thrashed him and his brother-in-law while Khan stabbed Ezaz.”
