Delhi government has decided that to keep pollution in check in winters, only eco-friendly crackers have to be used in the national capital. This year, there will be a pollution-free Diwali and only eco-friendly crackers have to be used at this festival. And if someone will be found violating the order, then a fine of Rs 1 lakh will be imposed for burning polluting crackers.
Anti cracker campaign by AAP government to begin from November 3:
From 3 November, the anti cracker campaign initiated by the AAP government will be started. Also, the Delhi government has come up with a green App to reduce air pollution in the state and promote the use of green crackers.
Use only green crackers this Diwali:
Delhi’s Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that according to the Supreme Court’s 2018 order, only green crackers will be allowed to be used this Diwali. Also, there will be an investigation of the firecracker manufacturing units to ensure that no old stock is left. The check on this will be kept by a Delhi pollution control committee and 11 special squads.
The Delhi government has come up with a mobile application called Green App that will allow users to make complaints about waste burning, industrial pollution and dust. Arvind Kejriwal will launch the application Gree Delhi App on 29 October at noon.
