Delhi Violence: Purushottam Pathak, Chief Magistrate of North East Delhi court has rejected the bail request of Rohit 26 years-old. He is one of the members of the gang which has started the North-East Delhi riots. This bail is rejected because Rohit has seen in the several CCTV footage while destroying the private and the public properties of the area.
During the Delhi Riots in Braham Puri area, his video of damaging these properties and CCTV cameras installed in the area. This communal violence between Hindus and Muslims was started on 24 February in the North-East Delhi.
What does the Judge say?
In the latest announcement of the court on 19 August 2020 stated that Rohit has been found in the CCTV recording while damaging the public and private property and the CCTV cameras installed in the Gali No-2 Braham Puri, Delhi with the danda in his hand. And he is also a member of the Unlawful assembly at the time Delhi Riots. He is recognized because of the Constable Deepak while he was checking the CCTV recordings from that area.
The judge said that the accused Rohit is in the initial stage of the criminal procedure as he was arrested on 11 August 2020. And the other of the unlawful assembly is yet to be found. He also said that he does not find any grounded evidence in favor of the Rohit.
This hearing of the court is done through video- conferencing. During this conference, Public Prosecutor Salim Ahmad in favor of the state has opposed the application for the bail of Rohit. and he also had made some obligations of vandalizing, rioting, looting, and destruction of shops and houses on Rohit.
This communal-violence was started on 24 February after the protest of CAA-NRC in the area.
