DU may not have physical classes this year- internals to be carried online: check details

Recently, Delhi University, DU has released a notice for procedures for internals assessment, viva voce, and projects for semester exams in December 2020. Also, it is hinted that there will be no physical classes this semester.

The notice has been issued for the principals of colleges and deans of departments. Following is what the notice states:

“ Internal assessment of the students must also be carried out using IT tools. All teachers should give assignments to the students in the prescribed format in email and google classroom. Students would have to submit the solved assignments to the teacher via email at a defined time. After evaluation, the respective teacher will submit the result to the principal and the head of the department.”

The notice stated that all the classes will be conducted online as for now. Also, in place of three components of internal assessment, only one component will be defined as internal assessment. So now three components of internal assessment that are a class test, tutorial test and attendance are replaced by one single component. 

The notice stated that few exercises can be done by the teachers online and viva voce can be conducted through any online teaching platform.

Further, according to notice, students must be allowed to take online internships that can be carried from home. Also, deans and principals have been informed that they must consider the present situation for the apprenticeship of the students.

Notice also states that instead of lab experiments, teachers should look for other assignments. And the dissertations of programmes at varsity would be conducted on basis of written assignments while keeping the ongoing situation in mind.
