International flights: Now you can directly fly from Delhi to Tokyo from 2nd November. As per the statement released bg Indian Embassy in Japan, Passengers will no longer have to register through them for international flights.

On Tuesday, India extended its embargo to Japan. Now, Japan is also in the list of countries that have Air bubble system. Air bubble system is a medium which has been introduced amid covid pandemic to repatriate stranded citizens to their countries. So as announced, From 2nd November, India and Japan will operate their regular flights.

The statement released by The Indian Embassy in Japan reads, “Registration of passengers with the Embassy of India in Japan is no longer required, and bookings should be done directly with concerned airlines.”

‘Air bubble’ agreements are temporary and reciprocal meaning that airlines from both countries enjoy similar benefits. The agreement aims at restarting commercial passenger services which were suspended as a result of covid 19 pandemics.  India has established an air bubble agreement with 13 new countries and Japan is the latest one.

International flights

Since 23 March, International passenger flights have been suspended in India due to covid 19 pandemic. Nevertheless, Vande Bharat mission has introduced special International flights and bilateral air bubble pacts. The air bubble pact has been formed with nearly 18 countries in total including Ukraine and Bangladesh.

The embassy stated, “Air India has announced its Air Bubble Schedule from Delhi to Tokyo, with effect from November 2 to December 28, 2020, and from Tokyo to Delhi with effect from November 4 to December 30, 2020.”
