Former PM of Malaysia guilty of all 7 charges
On 28th July 2020 ( Tuesday), the former PM of Malaysia Najib Razak founded guilty on the seven charges in a multi-million dollar corruption trail as announced by the Official Media.

As reported by the Bernama news agency, The High Court judge Mohd Nazlan, Mohd Ghazali announced the verdict on the PM Najib Razak that the prosecution had succeeded in proving all the charges against him.

The Bernama news agency noted the statement given by the High Court Judge “ I, therefore, find the accused guilty and convict the accused an all the seven charges on him.”

Mr. Razak had seven charges on him. They are as follows:

  • 3 charges of the money laundering
  • 3 charges of the Criminal breach of trust
  • And 1 charge is for abusing or misusing of his power that he had

He claim that these funds in his bank account is a donation or gift by Saudi royal family. He isn’t aware of the illegal transaction to his bank account.

The charges include some 15-20 years of jail and a huge fine for abusing or misusing his power and money laundering. Mr Razak is sentence to 12 years to imprisonment and RM 210 million after found guilty and 10 years each for the other charges and If somehow he fails to pay the fine, then this would result in the addition of 5 more years of the jail.

In February this year, the former PM stated that he’s not guilty for all the 7 charges imposed on him. This means that these state funds is stole from a strategic develop company. 1 Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and then it transferred to Najib’s bank account and of his close circle members.

Despite the spread of the COVID -19 pandemic, the supporters of Najib gathered outside at the strictly guarded court complex.
