A gang of conmen duped over 50 youths of crores of rupees by promising them jobs in CPWD( Central Public Works Department).
The gang made a fake website similar to the official CPWD website of CPWD. To make the website look more authentic, the original content was also copied by the alleged. Furthermore, fake examinations were conducted and fake appointed letters were offered to the applicants. And then they duped crores of rupees.

DCP( New Delhi) Eish Singhal revealed the accused who have been identified as
- Amit, 27 from Lucknow
- Ram Dayal,27 from Rajasthan
- Gurdeep, 28 from Rajasthan
Further DCP said that laptop, five phones, visiting card of NHAI (National Highway Authority of India) and a fake identity have been seized.
Deputy director-general, e-Governance for CPWD gave a complaint to the police after which they were arrested. The case was investigated by the team led by ACP Pragya Anand and inspector Suhaib Farooqui. An FIR was registered under IPC and IT Act at South Avenue Police Station. The original website of CPWD is www.cpwd.gov.in. However, the fake website www. cpwdgov.in was created by the gang. The cops obtain the IP address and mobile number through which the fake website was created. And with the help of internet service providers, the cops were able to arrest them.
The accused were arrested on Monday. About Amit, DCP Singhal said, “In 2018, he quit his job as a toll clerk and got a fake website www.cpwd.co.in created from a web designer in Lucknow and started his con job.” Later, Dayal and Gurdeep also joined him as web designers. The accused ran this racket for about two years.
