On Friday, Bengaluru celebrity party organizer, Viren Khanna, known for his exclusive events which served various ex-pats, was arrested due to speculations having a connection with a drug case, in which Actress Ragini Dwivedi is also involved. Officers of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested him in New Delhi and will bring back him to Bengaluru.
Viren Khanna- Connection with a drug case
Viren Khanna was in New Delhi for the last few days and CCB officers traveled all way long to New Delhi to arrest him. He has taken into custody for four days. The CCB arrested him after questioning Ragini Dwivedi for seven long hours.
According to Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Crime Branch, his team is focusing on particularly three areas, who procure the drugs then, who consume it, and who organizes the parties where these are consumed.
Viren is widely known for organizing high profile parties in Bengaluru and according to CCB sources allege that the drugs were consumed in these events.
Patil informed, ” This is a big network of drug peddling and consumption. There are people like Viren Khanna who plan high-end parties and give a platform to consume drugs. Then there are celebrities and other persons who go to these parties and consume drugs like film actress. Then there are drug suppliers like Ravi and Rahul who provide drugs bought from other drug pedallers mostly foreigners. We will arrest all the accused involved in these main three areas which are drug peddling, drug consumers, and drug party organizers.”
However, the police officer doesn’t enclose the charges against Viren Khanna saying that it will be revealed in the remand application that will be submitted in the court.
Viren Khanna personal life
Viren Khanna is born as well as raised in Delhi. He is 35 years old. He moved to Bengaluru for studying and right after college, he started organizing parties. He started his own company, Viren Khanna Production, and started hosting parties across the city. Apart from his hosting company, he also found Bangalore Expats Club which is an exclusive group for the ex-pats in the city and whose members he personally vets before allowing them to join the group.
The club’s Facebook page has almost 30,000 likes to describe the group as The social community of ex-pats and interns living and working in Bangalore city.
