How Delhi-NCR women have decided to celebrate Karva Chauth amid the ongoing pandemic this year
This Year Karva Chauth was a bit different. Nevertheless, women in the city were all geared up to make it memorable in their own way. People sat in smaller groups in the separate balconies wearing matching gloves and masks. Think about using sanitizer after every ritual. This is how Karva Chauth was celebrated amid the ongoing covid pandemic.
Praying and Playing games while sitting in separate balconies
Anshu Popli, a lecturer in Delhi said that health and safety is always the priority. She revealed that pooja and ritual will be carried in small groups of 4. Everyone will be wearing the masks and will sanitize their hands before and after every ritual. Further, she said that they have decided to sit in their balconies during the pooja and to keep the sense of community intact they will be playing games, praying, talking to each other while sitting in the balconies itself.
Talking about eating only homemade food this Karva Chauth, Risshma Aggarwal, an academic officer said, “Every year I celebrate this day with my close friends and the lovely ladies in my residential society. We indulge in lots of preparations beforehand. But, this year it’s going to be different because of the pandemic. I’ve decided that my joy, happiness and respect for this day will be more like any other year, but the number of people with whom I will celebrate will be less..”
