On Wednesday, India strongly condemned the personal attacks on French President Emmanuel Macron. The French President was criticized for his tough stance on radical Islam calling it as “a violation of the most basic standards of international discourse.”
Indian Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the attack on French teacher in a gruesome manner that has shook the entire world
In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, it was really clear that India is strongly condemning the personal attacks on French President. In a strongly worded statement, the Foreign Ministry also condemned the brutal terrorist attack that cost the life of an innocent French teacher and also added that there is no place for terrorism in this world, and nothing can justify an act of terrorism for any reason and under any circumstance. The Ministry of External Affairs in its statement said that India strongly condemn the brutal attack on the French teacher which ended an innocent life in a gruesome manner that has shocked the entire world. They also added that we offer condolences to the family of the victim and people of France.
In the statement they also said that they strongly deplore the usage of unacceptable language in the personal attacks on French President Emmanuel Macron and this act is violation of most basic standards of international discourse.
French Ambassador to India responded to the statement tweeting that both the countries can count on each other in a fight against terrorism
After the statement was issued, the French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenanin thanked Inida by adding that both the countries can count on each other in the fight against terrorism. “Thank you @MEAIndia. France and India can always count on each other in the fight against terrorism,” he tweeted. The French president Emmanuel Macron has been facing criticism from various muslim-majority countries for his tough stand on radical Islam and also defended cartoons of Prophet Muhammad.
