On Wednesday, Indian Armed Forces handed over the PLA (People’s Liberation Army ) soldier who was detained after he crossed LAC (the Line of Actual Control) in Eastern Ladakh on Sunday as reported by Chinese military. In the late hours of Monday, PLA (People’s Liberation Army) confirmed that their one Chinese soldiers had gone missing along the Line of Actual Control on previous night and requested Indian Army to return the Chinese soldier back to PLA according to the protocols. The soldier was handed over to the Chinese troops on Wednesday as confirmed by PLA.
Indian troops found Chinese colonel in Demchok sector in Eastern Ladakh after he crossed LAC and entered Indian territory
In the statement released by PLA on social media they said “According to the relevant agreement between China and India, a Chinese soldier who was requested by the herders to help find a lost yak was handed over to the Chinese border troops by the Indian side in the early morning of October 21,”. The soldier was caught by Indian Army in Eastern Ladakh in Demchok sector after he entered Indian territory by crossing LAC. The disguised Chinese soldier was identified as a Chinese colonel. Indian Army also received request from PLA to enquire about the whereabouts of the Chinese soldier.
Incident happened amid critical condition on LAC with no possible early solution to the tension
The incident happened at the time when the condition on LAC is worse and could get into the state of war any time. Tension in LAC in Eastern Ladakh between Chinese and Indian troops has gotten worse since May this year. Many rounds of Commander level talks have been done but no positive outcome can be acquired for the condition on LAC. Both the countries have already deployed huge armed forces with military weapons and equipment at LAC.
