India welcomes Abraham Accords, calls for talks on ‘two-state solution’

India openheartedly welcomed Abraham accords by the US, Israel, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The agreement was signed between Israel and Bahrain as well as Israel and USE, the US being the main meditator for the peace agreements. The very first peace agreement was signed between Israel and UAE followed by the deal between Bahrain and Israel.

Accords will normalize ties between Israel with UAE and Bahrain

These accords would help to maintain peace among these middle-east countries. The accords between Bahrain and Israel was signed in Washington joined by US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The deal was signed by the foreign ministers of both countries. These historic deals will help in normalising ties between Israel and the two Middle east countries.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said “We have followed the Abraham Accords signed in Washington DC by the UAE, Bahrain, Israel and the US. As I have said earlier, India has always supported peace and stability in West Asia, which is our extended neighbourhood.”

Modi Government is very successful in balancing foreign relationships with many countries

India has always balanced her relationship with Israel and the Arab states. Srivastava added that India will also continue the traditional support for the Palestinian cause. India has struck deals with Israel in the terms of defense, technology and trade. Narendra Modi became the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Israel.

Arab countries are home to many Indians as well as key source of energy

Modi Government has always worked towards foreign relations with Arab countries as these countries are home to a huge population of Indians and also a key source of energy. The peace deal of UAE and Bahrain with Israel will normalize the ties within the countries and expand their support in politics, security, trade, and connectivity.
