Also, Mukesh Ambani has expressed interest in selling technology to other carriers if it proves out to be a success. Ambani’s Jio is accelerating efforts to bring a high-speed network to the world’s no 2 mobile markets by users.

Jio to team up with Qualcomm to develop 5G solutions in India

Jio includes tycoon’s wireless operator and Radisys Corp. They Are partnering with Qualcomm Technologies to fast track the development and roll out 5G network in India. 

India is yet for auction airwaves for 5G. However, Ambani is preparing Jio for 5G wireless service. He calls it a technology developed in house meaning that his carrier won’t need to spend much to switch to the new system. This will be somewhat opposite to some of its rivals as Ambani believes so. This will leave You immune to political disputes like Chinese equipment vendors.

Mukesh Ambani with Jio at its centre has set his eyes on e-commerce and seeks to take on Amazon.com Inc and Walmart’s Inc.’s local unit in India. Furthermore, Asia’s richest man has raised more than $20 billion this year. He was able to achieve it by selling stakes in Jio to investors including Facebook Inc. and Google.

Jio which started offering free calls and cheap data four years ago is now the nation’s biggest carrier with 400 million users.  Press Trust of India reported that now the company will introduce 5G smartphones at a cost less than $40.
