Amid the ongoing covid pandemic, the metro passengers have to undergo thermal screening by thermal guns and hand sanitization at the entry point. Since there are now limited entry and exit points along with strict checking of covid, passengers now have to wait in long queues for their turn to enter the station.

The national capital Delhi is undergoing the third wave of the covid pandemic. While many people were seen in long queues outside the Rajiv Chowk Metro station. Rajiv Chowk MetroStation accounts to be the most overcrowded station as it connects with famous areas like Connaught Place, Jantar Mantar and Janpath.

The Delhi Metro operations were put to a halt for almost six months due to covid pandemic. However, in September the operations resumed. Due to the new rule that needs every passenger to undergo thermal screening and sanitization at entry points, there had been long queues at the stations.
40,285 active cases of the covid disease reported by the Union Health Ministry
As reported by the Union Health Ministry, nearly 40,258 active cases have been reported in Delhi. Given the covid pandemic, passengers need to undergo thermal screening along with proper sanitization. Also, there are a limited number of entry points. This has resulted in a mile-long queue of passengers waiting outside Rajiv Chowk Metro station.
