The accused wanted to take revenge for the death of his brother and hence murdered Vikas Mehta on 22 October. After the gruesome murder, the killer clicked photographs of the deceased.
17 seconds long video shows accused firing at the deceased from the point-blank range:
On 22 October 2020, the incident happened in 55 feet road near Nawada Housing complex in Uttam Nagar. The incident has been recorded in a CCTV camera. The video is 17 seconds long. In the video, the accused is seen firing at the deceased from a point-blank range. He fires nearly 2 or 3 bullets following which he took out his mobile phone and clicked photographs of the body.
The accused Pawan Gahlot has been arrested by the police:
The deceased is identified as Pawan Gahlot. He has been arrested. Also, Pawan has confessed that he murdered Vikas Mehta to take revenge for his brother’s death. An FIR has been registered at Mohan Garden Police station. An eye witness stated that Praween Gahlot was murdered by a person named Vikas Dalal in May 2019 and Dalal had also died during the cross firing by the police.
Dalal being an associate of Pradeep Solanki had a link with deceased Vikas Mehta. Hence Pawan Gahlot thought that Vikas Mehta was involved in his brother’s murder. Following which he resorted to taking revenge from Mehta and murdered him on 22 October.
