Michael Siegel, his co-star, and a dear friend confirmed the news about his demise through his post on Facebook. He gave reasons and causes of his death which the people were eager to know about. Micheal disclosed the fact about Licassi struggling with depression took his own life on August 27, 2020.

In his post, Siegel wrote addressing him as his friend, his brother, and his partner in comedy. He continued by saying that Licassi lost his battle with depression and ended his life. He shared Peter has been looking forward to living a very private life while fighting with depression. Michael had lots of words in praise of his friend and showed his feelings of being lucky enough to have worked with him for 16 years and to be his friend for a really long duration of time of 38 years. Co-star of Peter shared his nostalgic feelings reminiscing the memories made with him and all the moments of joy and sorrow shared by both. The actor even emphasized the fact of people who have been dealing with mental issues to reach out for help. He even added helpline numbers for people in need according to the place they are currently residing in.
