The Punjab ruling party ordered on Saturday, students of classes 9 to 12 can visit their schools on a voluntary basis to seek guidance from their parents, making partial modifications in the Centre’s Unlock phase 4 guidelines. The relaxations are given to those students who are living outside the high-risk containment zones.
However, Students have to provide written consent of their parents or guardians according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on September 8, 2020.
Instructions are given to the institutes for reopening
According to an official spokesperson, The State Home Department has issued detailed instructions for permitting the skill or entrepreneurship training in national skill training institutes, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), short term training centers registered with the National Skill Development Corporation or State Skill Development Missions or other ministries of the Government of India or state governments.
From September 21, 2020, The activities of the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Developments (NIESBUD), the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), and their training providers have also been allowed provided that they will follow precautionary measures strictly with respect to COVID 19 virus.
The Centre gives options to States to take a decision on reopening of educational institutions
The school and colleges are closed since March 22, from when Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the first lockdown to combat the Coronavirus. From the last few months, few economic activities were allowed to take place by the Central Government but the schools and educational institutions remain closed to prevent the transmission of the COVID 19 Infection among the students.
Earlier this month, the central government allowed the opening the schools for senior students with effective from September 21. It allowed states to take the independent call regarding the reopening of the schools for higher classes.
Now, The Punjab ruling party Congress on Saturday allowed the opening of the colleges for research scholars and postgraduate students pursuing technical and professional courses that require experimental works.
