Rahul Gandhi: Farmer unions ae protesting against the three farm bills that were passed in the Monsoon session of Parliament, this week after calling out for Bharat bandh in many states. The passing of farm ordinances has created chaos among the farmers and opposition parties.

Farmer unions have called out for Bharat Bandh to protest against farm bills

It is highly likely for former Congress President Rahul Gandhi to lead a rally in support of farmers in Punjab this week. He will address the rally for which the date and venue has been finalised but yet has not been made public. Rahul Gandhi will join the farmers in Punjab and also in Haryana, but according to a senior congress leader there are possibilities that the BJP Government in the state will jot allow him to enter in the state.

Two-month long agitation is started by Congress party in support of Farmers

This rally is will be the part of two-month long nationwide protest as initiated by Congress Party against the Government for passing of three farm bills. According to the opposition parties these bills will bring destruction to the income of the farmers and lead them to poverty. During the session 8 MPs of Opposition parties were also suspended for one week from the upper house for indulging in violence against the deputy chairperson of Rajya Sabha Harivansh while protesting against the farm bills.

Despite of the protest against the laws by the opposition parties and farmers, President Ram Nath Kovind has given hi assent for the three farm bills on Sunday. Opposition parties urged him to return the bills and only sign after all the doubts of the farmers about the bills are washed away and are passed after following of proper rules and regulations.

In the protest against the bills, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal also resigned form her post, following the move Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) which was one of the oldest allies of BJP exit the alliance of NDA.
