Rahul Gandhi Tractor Rally: On Monday, Rahul Gandhi accepting the fact that there are shortcomings in the Public Distribution System (PDS) and Minimum Support Price (MSP), stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi instead of solving these problems is killing the farmers with new farm bills.
Rahul Gandhi says many people will be left jobless if Mandis are shut
On the second day of the Congress tractor rally in Punjab, while speaking at the public meeting in Sangrur, Rahul Gandhi predicted that if Mandis get shut down, lakhs of people having their jobs in procurement yards would be left jobless.
Rahul Said, “We accept that there are loopholes in the system including mandis, PDS, and MSP, but it needs to be strengthened. However, Narendra Modi is doing nothing to improve the system. With the farm bills, he is killing the farmers.”
Central Government clarified about the new farm laws
Although, it should be noted that the Central Government has clarified that there are no provisions of scrapping the process of procurement or Mandi or MSP system in the three new farm laws. The three new farm bills which were proposed by the government and now passed by both the houses are The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance, and Farm Services Act, 2020, and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
Rahul Gandhi attacks PM Modi
Rahul further added that the Central Government is attacking the poor people, farmers, and Workers one after another from the last six years since Modi came into power. He said that none of their policies are helping the poor people, all are for their two-three friends. He also raised the topics of Demonetization and Goods and Services Tax (GST).
He attacked PM by raising questions on him. He said, Modi promised that Demonetization would be an attack on black money but nothing happened. People deposited their money in banks and that money was used to waive off loans of five-six rich people of the country.
He also criticized the GST and said combining with the Demonetization and attacked the small and medium businesses in the country.
Along with many Other leaders of the Congress party, Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh was present in the rally held in Punjab on Monday.
During the first day of the rally, the Congress leaders visited Ludhiana, Lopon (Moga), Chakar, Lekha, and Manoke (Jagraon), before culminating in Jattpura (Raikot).
