Rahul Gandhi’s tractor rally in Punjab against new farm bills begins today

Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi is all set to lead a tractor rally in Punjab on Sunday. This really is described as the support to the farmers protesting against the three new farm bills passed by the Parliament. His visit to support the farmers is postponed by a day as he visited the family of the Hathras gang-rape victim on Saturday.

A Punjab Congress spokesperson told that the former party president rally will cover more than 50 km, starting from Moga to Patiala and will continue for three days till October 6. During his three day rally, Rahul Gandhi will cover the area on a tractor in Moga, Ludhiana, Sangrur, and Patiala districts of the Malwa region, covering more than 50 km. The tractor rallies are scheduled to begin at 11 am each day and will strictly follow all the COVID 19 guidelines.


All important Congress party leaders will join the rally

Besides, Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh, all the party Ministers, MPs, and MLAs are expected to participate in the protest rally along with the India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in-charge of party affairs in Punjab, Harish Rawat, and state party president Sunil Jakhar.

Schedule of 3-days tractor rally

The first day, the protest rally will begin with a public meeting at Badni Kalan in Nihal Singh Wala in the Moga district before moving through Lopon. Then it will move towards Jagraon in Punjab’s Ludhiana district from where it will be received at Chakar, Lakha, and Manoke, combining at a public meeting in Raikot and covering a distance of 22 km.

On the second day, i.e, October 5, the tractor rally will cover a distance of 20 km. The rally will begin with a reception at Barnala Chowk in the Sangrur district, from where Rahul Gandhi and its whole team will head to Bhawanigarh by car to address a public meeting. Then, they will move to Samana in Patiala district on tractors. They will hold receptions at Fatehgarh Chhana and Bahmna and then end the day with a public meeting at Grain Market, Samana.

And on the last day of the tractor rally, it will begin from Dudhan Sadhan in the Patiala district with a public meeting. Then the whole Congress team will move to the Pehowa border, which is 10 km away from Dudhan Sadhan. Rahul Gandhi then enters Haryana for a number of programs planned there.
