Delhi government: In the latest video conference Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal state about the slight increase in the number of cases of corona-virus. In the context of the video conference he also requested people to wear a mask, it is for your health concern. But people are not taking this seriously about 188,578 people are got fined because of not wearing masks in public areas.
From June 12, 2020, about Rs, 9.42 crores have been collected from these fines. Kejriwal also said that please give them fine if you are caught without wearing a mask as they are doing their duties and serving for the good.
According to the new rule by the Delhi government under the management of COVID-19 that is passed by the government fine for not wearing the mask at the public places is Rs 500. This rule was passed by the L.G in June 2020. On 14 June 2020, the decision of charging fine on those who are not wearing the mask in the public areas is applied.
Delhi Police has also posted on their tweeter account that “Wearing a mask in public places is necessary for all people. Even for the individual who is driving the car alone. And if they are caught without wearing a mask then they would get fined of Rs 500. Your safety is in your hands.”
There are total 16,482 violations of this rule has been recorded by the Delhi Police till 23 August 2020.
Delhi Police also states that South Delhi s’ people are obeying this rule since July 2020. On the other hand, the areas like Lodhi Colony, Mehrauli, Hauz Khaz, Defence Colony had the maximum number of the violations of this rule about 5,539 people have violated the mask-wearing in these areas.
On the other hands, the areas of Southwest Delhi have a total of 4564 violations. These violations are recorded in areas like RK Puram, Vasant Vihar, Delhi Cantonment, and Vasant Kunj. And 6,482 peoples are found without the mask and get in the New Delhi zone.
From the outer Delhi areas like Sultanpuri, Mangolpuri, Anand Vihar, Aman Vihar, Kanjhawala the maximum number of violations has been recorded which is around 22,136. And then the West Delhi 16,772 people were fined.
