Police revealed that Jaspal Singh along with his wife, three children and a friend Milap Singh were on their way to visit an acquaintance. They were in a car and stopped at a CNG station opposite to Gurudwara Nanak Pio.

The accident happened near Gurudwara Nanak Piao on GT road on Monday night. While Two sisters aged seven and four died, their brother and family friend aged 55 sustained injuries. The police said on Tuesday that They were hit by an unidentified car while they were crossing a road in northwest Delhi’ Model Town.

Here’s what police official Vijaya Arya said:

“We got a PCR call at Model Town police station around 11.49 pm about an accident near Gurudwara Nanak Piao by some unknown vehicle. On enquiry, it surfaced that the accident happened while Milap Singh was crossing the road with the three children of his friend Jaspal Singh on GT Road. All four persons, including Milap Singh and three children, got injured in the accident,” police official Vijayanta Arya said.

A case under section 279, 304A, and 337 of IPC has been registered:

The offending vehicle is yet to be traced. The police are looking at CCTV footage of nearby areas to identify the vehicle. Police added that Milap Singh, the family friend and Jaspal Singh’s three children were crossing the road when the accident happened. 

The two injured children were initially admitted to Pentamed hospital and were later referred to AIIMS trauma centre. Milap Singh and a 4-year girl were hospitalised in Trauma Centre, Civil lines and were then referred to Safdarjung hospital.

During the treatment, the 7-year-old girl and her 4-year-old sister died because of injuries while Milap Singh and six-year-old brother are still undergoing treatment
